Finding the right apartment near Appalachian State University comes with a lot of questions, and we believe getting answers needs to be simple. We are here to provide clear, straightforward information about leasing, amenities, policies, and what it's like to live at Mountaineer Village. Whether you're planning ahead or ready to apply, you'll find the details you need to feel confident you are making the right choice. 

  • Mountaineer Village makes it easy with a singular floor plan layout with two varying styles. No guessing what your future home will look like here, when you check out our models the layout you see is what you'll get! Every apartment has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with your choice between the Premium style or the Standard style. 

  • Mountaineer Village delivers one of the most complete amenity packages in Boone, designed for comfort, convenience, and connection. Residents enjoy a pet-friendly community with a large dog park, a 24/7 fitness center, game room, and study lounge with complimentary printing, along with a saltwater pool, sand volleyball, pickleball and basketball courts, and outdoor gathering spaces with grills and a wood fire pit. Everyday ease is built in with guaranteed parking, valet trash, package services, bike racks, and multiple AppalCart stops. Inside each apartment, features like hardwood flooring, energy-efficient appliances, in-home washer and dryer, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and large closets create a comfortable home, with select homes offering stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, black matte finishes, and mountain views.

  • We have multiple! There are two covered bus stops on property and an additional stop at the front. We are located on both the orange and green routes. 

  • A security deposit worth 2-months' rent is a qualifying option but is not required for all applicants. This is an option if you do not have a guarantor.

  • Applicants may qualify by using one of the following options: 

     

    Guarantor 
    A guarantor is typically a parent or guardian who is financially responsible for the lease. Guarantors must reside in the United States and have a valid Social Security number. A minimum credit score of 600 and income equal to three times the monthly base rent is required. The credit check is a hard check. Proof of income is required and will be uploaded on the guarantor's application. All guarantors must pass credit, background, rental history, and income screemng.

    Security Deposit 
    The security deposit is equal to two months' rent and must be paid within 14 days of lease signing. The security deposit can be fully refunded. The deposit does not cover any move-in fees or rental installments. 

    Guarantor Waiver Program 
    We offer a third-party guarantor waiver program for a monthly $58 fee. This option requires no upfront costs and provides instant approval upon verification of student status. You must be an active student and will be required to provide proof of student status. 

  • Applications can be submitted online via our website, or you can visit our leasing office for assistance with the application process.

  • Water, sewer, wi-fi and cable, plus dumpster services are all included in the rent. Electric is the only utility not included and is billed monthly utilizing SimpleBills. One bill for the unit will be split amongst the number of occupied bedspaces. No one will need to set up this service!

  • We offer a 12-month lease term. Please contact the leasing office with any questions regarding lease options.

  • Mountaineer Village is pet friendly with weight and breed restrictions. A one-time non-refundable pet fee and monthly pet rent apply. Please contact the leasing office for more details.

  • Tours can be scheduled by contacting the leasing office by phone or by booking directly through our website. Walk-in tours are also welcome! Please remember to bring your photo ID when touring.

  • We do! We have a detailed section of our application that we utilize to match individuals. Contact our leasing team for more information. 


  • Yes! Our on-site maintenance team is available 24/7 to assist with repair requests and apartment concerns based on the level of priority. You can add a work order within your resident portal or by connecting with the office.

  • For urgent maintenance emergencies, please contact the office during business hours or follow the after-hours call prompt. Emergency requests may also be submitted through the resident portal by selecting emergency priority. For life threatening emergencies, please contact 911.

  • Rent is due on the first of each month and is paid through the resident portal via card or e-check. We do not accept paper payments.

  • Yes. Renters insurance is required for all residents. Residents are automatically enrolled in our renter's insurance program but may provide proof of their own coverage to meet this requirement. 

  • Each apartment is a blank canvas for our residents. You are welcome to furnish and decorate according to your own style! 

  • Residents may reassign their lease by finding a qualified replacement. 

    Lease Reassignment Guidelines 

    • Lease holder must notify the leasing office 

    • The lease holder is responsible for finding a qualified replacement 

    • An assignment fee equal to 85% of one month's rent applies 

    • All outstanding balances must be paid before reassignment is finalized  

    • Lease concessions do not transfer

    • Rent is not prorated 

    Reassignment Process 

    • Replacement completes an application and meets all rental criteria 

    • Replacement signs a new lease 

    • Current lease holder pays the reassignment fee and clears all balances 

    • Original responsibility ends once the replacement moves in and pays rent 

  • Yes! Different options are available for unit transfers at no-cost or for an additional transfer fee. Please contact the leasing office to discuss available options.

  • Each unit has a designated mailbox which can be found in their building. Residents can collect packages from the clubhouse.

  • Yes! We offer guaranteed parking for an additional monthly fee.

  • Free guest parking is available on a first come, first served basis. These spots are designated with the word "Visitor".

  • No. The total rent for the lease term is a set amount that is divided into twelve equal monthly installments.

  • Mountaineer Village is just up the hill from the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex and around the comer from Booneshine Brewery. We are conveniently located just minutes away from the Lowe's Food Shopping Plaza and Regal Movie Theater with many shops and eateries in between! Just two miles from campus and the downtown area, MV seamlessly blends comfort and convenience.

  • All leases are by-the-bed and per person, on an individual lease agreement. You are not responsible for the lease of any of your roommates or for any vacancy in your unit.

  • To guarantee your bed space, we will need a signed lease agreement. Leases are generated once your application is complete, and your screening has been approved. There is a section in the application where you can list any apartment preferences like building, floor, bed, etc. Placement is met on a first come first served basis.
